Medusa V: End Game
Here are some pictures of the GCN weekend event in August 2006.
Gobstyk's entered an Eldar team & finished top of all the teams by a
single point!
Well done to Tony, Mike, Tom & Andy T.

Special mention should go to Andy T, who had never used Eldar before &
promptly won all 6 games!
Simon Crocker & Will both helped to run the event.

Gobstykon Openday: Updated
The Openday on Saturday 25 Feb 2006 was a success, 16 players in 4 heats of 4 enjoyed
the Dawn of War LAN Tournament with a 5th round of the 4 heat winners finding a final
champion. Numerous demo games of most things you can think of were done, as well as
various mini tournaments & fun. Well done to all those who made the day possible.
Bigger & better next time is the aim. |
The Tale of
Klavius the Undying.
Beyond the altar of
ultimate darkness in the wastelands of Naggaroth exists the Horde of Klavius. Klavius was
a pupil of Teclis the great High Elven mage, a human who showed enough promise for Teclis
to believe that he could manage the mysteries of High Magic. |
Nick Kyme from White Dwarf visited us in December
Faced with the challenge of visiting every GCN Club in a year, Nick visited Gobstyk's
in December. He took pictures of the various things going on at a typical Club night. Some
time of the evening was given up to play a game of WHFB where Pete Delafield & Gareth
Hamilton combined their Empire forces to meet Nick & Will Platten's combined Dwarf
throng. |
Helped run the GCN Campaign weekend in November -
Sabbat Crusade at WHW,
The GCN were asked to run the GW 40K campaign weekend in November. A great time was had
by all 14 teams taking part. A conflict between the Imperium & Chaos forces. As the
assigned leader of "Ordo Muppetus" (A team from the Sad Muppets Club) I helped
tell the story & plot narrative to the eager team. We were one of the 7 defending
Imperial factions. Through a combined team effort & cunning strategies we finished top
of the Imperial teams. Highlight of the weekend was my Inquisitor Lord special character
being stomped on by a Forgeworld Blood Thirster. (I will have my revenge Ben!) |
Terrain day - Sort out of club terrain & board
fix
As with all items at the club, the boards & scenery do take a bit of a battering
over the years. Thanks to the team of people who completed the running repairs on the more
needy items the other weekend. |

40K -
40K Doubles win for Mike Purvis & Tony burgess,
Check out the GW Tournament result pages for the final scores & details of the
force that is "The Serpents of T-rau Sar". Well done to both Mike & Tony for
winning this event.
6 Gobstykians played in the GCN 40K Open Play League finals at WHW
The OPL is an ongoing yearly inter-club event run by the GCN. Teams (of between 3 &
5 players) from 2 (or more) Clubs arrange & play games against each other for a given
game system eg Starwars miniatures. The results of the fixture are input into the GCN OPL
system on the Internet. Lots of fixtures are then played against other Clubs. The top 4
teams from over the years inter-club fixtures then play in the system final to find the
top Club for that system. |
