The miniatures are an important part of this hobby, and many people
enjoy collecting and painting them in
their own right. You don't really get the full benefit of the hobby and your investment in
models and rules until you can field a fully painted army and use it in nice terrain.
The superb Ogryns on the right were painted by Gareth Hamilton, one of the
Club's painting experts. Painting to this standard takes tremendous dedication and
expertise, but with a little practice anyone can paint miniatures to a reasonable gaming
standard.
This new release
Ogre BloodBowl player has been painted by Jim Allen, Another one of our expert painters
Jim's talents rival that of Mr Hamiltons. Jim can often be found playing BloodBowl. His
current team are Norse.
The next 2 models have been painted by William Platten.
The Space Wolf Marine is part of many William is still working on in
his 1500pt Space Wolf army.

The Harlequin is part of a small force from William's Eldar models.
Careful use of coloured shapes gives this Harlequin the desired effect.
Here
we have another of Gareth Hamiltons excellent units, this time from his newly painted
Empire army for 2005. Gareth has gone into such detail with this force that each model in
a unit has a unique name & short history. Now that is dedication!
This section of the site is dedicated to the miniatures that make this
such an appealing hobby.
The Silver Membership Scheme
It takes a lot of effort and application to collect and field an army of painted
miniatures.
We at Gobstyk's wanted to recognise and reward this effort somehow,
and so we invented the Club Silver Membership Scheme.
Silver Members are people who have put together a legal 1500 point 40K or 2000 point
Fantasy Battle army with at least 45 fully painted miniatures in it. They also have to
have a good knowledge of the appropriate game, and a printed army list.
Have a look at our Silver Membership
armies.
