Trophies
Trophies will be awarded for: First, Second, Third. Most VPs in a single game, Best Army, Wooden Spoon. Best report of heroism.
Missions
All three missions will be played on day 1. On day 2 the first mission will be a random choice of the three, the final mission will be a random choice of the remaining two. Set ups will be determined randomly and announced at the start of each round. Please ensure you have an army that can cope with a wide range of missions. If a mission calls for a random number of objectives, this will be determined by the events team and announced at the start of the game.
Army Selection
You should bring a well rounded army, able to deal with a variety of missions, terrain and opponents. Only units in your codex are permitted. No Super Heavies, Imperial Armour, Allied Assassins etc.
Points
There are no points for painting or composition.
Points will be 3 for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. Ties will be determined by VPs scored. If an opponent concedes, you will score 1500 VPs and they will score 0 VPs. (as well as 3-0 for tournament points)
Please note that if mission objectives are tied, the result is a draw, VPs will only be used to determine tournament standing.
What do I do now?
If you are interested in playing, please send your name, contact details (including e-mail when possible) and cheque for £5 (Gobstyks members) or £10 (others) (payable to “Gobstyks Gaming Club”) to:
The Call to Battle c/o P Delafield 6 Staniforth Ave Eckington Sheffield S21 4GR
When your payment is received, a ticket will be sent to your contact details. A list on the Gobstyks forum will be updated to show who is going to the event. You may also buy tickets at the till on a club night.
If there are any questions or trash talk to be done, the Gobstyks forum is the place to go:
http://gobstyks.freeforums.org/index.php
Please note that there is no facility to pay on the door!
The Draw
The first two rounds will be drawn randomly. We will endeavour to ensure that those players who have indicated a club on their contact details will not play an opponent from the same club in Game 1 or 2.
Games 3-5 will be determined by the Swiss system and you may be faced with a club mate. Some flexibility in Games 3 and 4 will be used to try and ensure club mates avoid each other, but this may not be possible.
