Will
Legacy of Horus - day 1
After the Gobstyks team had to drop down to 8, I joined an all
Eldar Alliance!
So far we have scored reasonably in the second 2 rounds but Round 1 was an excellent
springboard.
Round 1 - 1125pts - 1st place overall
Dawn Assault: 100pts for winning the game or 50pts for a draw, plus 25pts per unit over
50% or mobile vehical in your opponents deployment zone.
How did I do: Vs Chaos Marines - 75pts, we ran out of time so it was a Draw!
Round 2 - 450pts - 3rd place overall
Recon: 100pts for winning or 50pts for a draw, plus 25pts for killing your opponents
general.
How did I do: Vs Black Templars - 0pts, Daz you have a lot to answer for! I am totally
jinxed when it comes to BT's, but it was still one hell of a game.
Round 3 - 625pts - 2nd place overall
Take & Hold: 100pts for winning or 50pts for a draw, plus 25pts for killing your
opponents most expensive unit.
How did I do: Vs World Eaters - 0pts, What can you say except: 3 Landraiders is dirty!
Especially as I had killed everything else on the table with just 5 Striking Scorpions.
Unit of the day: Striking Scorpions, First game the Exarch did 8 wounds from
a single round of HtH to kill the Deamon Prince Commander as he charged. The 3rd game they
killed 24 Berserkers & 6 Fleshhounds for the loss of 1 Scorpion. At one point I had 10
hits against them, needing to roll 3's to wound them my opponent promptly rolled 10x1or2!
Event of the day: After setting up for game 2, Sean from the Spikyclub (One
of the organisers) wanders over to my table & asks me where my General is & would
I draw one of these pieces of paper out of a hat, "Blood for the Blood God" I
read! After he goes to the stage to collect something, he returns & places a
BloodThirster next to my Farseer! "Fight that" he says, at which point my
Farseer promptly meets his maker! Assassination is such an ugly business. Someone in the
Gobstyks team has it in for me, as yet I am unsure as to who!
Retribution was not so successful as the Tzeench Greater Deamon I summoned to deal death
to Andy T's General got slapped by his powerfist & a lucky amount of Iron Halo saves
by Andy. However the last laugh was had by me, when after suitable bribery I secured a
second Greater Deamon to attack Pete D at the start of the next game. Again the Deamon was
vanquished by Pete's Dark Eldar Lord but then effort cost him the game..........
Lookout Betrayer your time will come, for I will find your hiding place & you shall be
crushed......
So all in all I'm having a great time..... Kelly & Tom G are also on my team &
doing a great job.
hehehe

my weekend.......
Well 2 wins a draw and 2 loses isn't to bad for me.
Game 1:Clense vs Chaos
my Initial plan of go for the objective and ignore the enemy unless they got in the way
worked, I got my units nicely spared across all four quarters in the first turn then
proceeded to rain starcannon shots on them, (this mission is so much easier when your
opponent forgets the objective, he he he) it was all going rather well until he charged my
scorpions and storm squad with the majority of the army. on the last turn if he killed 1
more scorpion I wasn't going to get the pts. for being in his quarter, 3 power weapons
fail to wound, and the last 2 attacks were saved.
hey so far I have a 100% win ratio.
doesn't seem they liked that to much because the next thing I know my farseer is having a
scrap with the greater deamon of change. I wounded him once, he bit my head off!
Game 2: Recon vs Tau
oh dear, he shot me to pieces a complete massacre for the tau, I couldn't get near him and
all I could roll were 1's & 2's.
Lets just forget that one.
Game 3: take and Hold vs Daz's Chaos
I was defending he wiped out my first squad of guardians then my army just didn't want to
turn up when it did I got my scorpions to the objective and there was a bit of a scuffle,
in the mean time my army marches "bravely" on to the battle field only to be
crushed by the juggernauts.
nevertheless a well fought game from both sides.
Game 4 : Night fight vs Black Templars.
I was quite relived when we were told it was a night fight (maybe he won't be able to shot
me as much) he did though in the first turn I saw.........a blade of grass, he saw my
entire army
After that it came very close I was contesting his deployment quarter and the other two
and he still hadn't entered my quarter. Will came in with his jetbikes to help me hold my
opponents quarter and to back up another, unfortunately will didn't get to his quarter and
a unit of marines swooped in for my quarter. time was called and it was a draw.
Game 5 : Total carnage vs Chaos
he only had six small units and a land raider, I sent my army running forward all guns a
blazing and got into combat as fast as possible, he didn't move his numbers were depleting
the terminators were holding up my seer council I spent 3 turns trying to kill one
terminator with 2 farseers. my fusion guns ripped through the rear armour of the land
raider and it blew up from the inside taking 1 of my guardians in the blast hmmm 8pts. to
200 odd.
he conceded at the beginning of turn six because his aspiring champion had 1 wound and 3
starcannons were aimed in his direction.
all in all a great weekend and our team finished second.

Re: my weekend.......
OK. My turn.
Game 1.
I fought 'nids in a dawn assault. I assaulted his gaunts and shot his stealers, and the
Lord ripped up his big stuff. Good game, a few rules queries about disembarking from
Raiders, I resorted to quoting rules I'm afraid. Never mind. I won.
Game 2.
I fought Nurgle Marines in a recon. I attacked down one flank and killed everything he had
bar 7 plague marines by turn 2. He conceded, so I helped Anna by killing off the leader of
her opponent's forces with some reinforcements.
Game 3.
IG Steel Legion.
All was going well, until a Blood Thirster turned up and attacked my Lord's Raider. It
crashed killing 2 Incubi. My Lord got miffed and tore the Blood Thirster into tiny bits,
doing 7 wounds in 2 combat rounds (it only has 4 wounds). However, my Lord was now on
foot, and couldn't get to the close combats to help. I was well ahead on victory points,
but he had a chimera sat on the objective that I only managed to destroy the weapon 3
times, immobilize 4 times and get can't move / shoot twice. Bummer. I loose. If I'd of
killed it, my Wyche's raider was the next closest. I'll get you for that Will!
Game 4.
IG Steel Legion.
I got all 4 quarters. But so did he. Again, my Lord charged a unit of 8 guardsmen holding
a quarter. If I kill 4. I win. If they fall back. I win. I do 1 wound and they hold. Draw.
Game 5.
'nids (what no marines?)
Pitched battle (for those who don't know the scenario, it IS a published one, it is on the
GW site)
I started setting up on one flank. He set up opposite me. I then started on the other
flank, he set up opposite me. In turn 1 I moved all my models bar 1 unit with 2 dark
lances onto 1 flank and killed everything. My Lord got 2 carnifexes and a Hive Tyrant. I
then reinforced Colin, and stopped him getting massacred. My Lord again proving that no
one should mess with him by dispatching the kin thingy riders of Saim Hein.
Sat. Evening. I played Andy H.
Cleanse. My Blood Drinkers vrs his Marines.
He set up right bakc and proceeded to blow large holes in my army. Of 50 models starting
the charge 10 made it to his lines. I won. Cool eh? I only had about 16 models left in the
end. (Some scouts and other stuff were holding quarters and not involved in the charge) My
Blood Drinkers commander proved that he, too, is hard by killing 5 marines in 1 round of
combat. The best moment was when 2 plasma pistols, 1 multimelta and 2 plasma guns killed 2
Razor backs and a Dreadnought.
On a personal note, I was really surprised by the level of competence displayed by
our 'lesser' gamers. I thought they would struggle. And although the hall was by no means
full of tournament player, they didn't do half bad. Well done.
Cheers,
Pete

Commanders Report
Game 1 (Dawn Assault)
vs Speed Freak Orks.
Oh how I hate the dark, his bike squad was 12" in front of my Vindicator and how far
could it see 9"!!!!!. Still the Crusader rules!!!!! dakka, dakka, dakka that ork
squad is dead.
Result good win.
Game 2 (Recon).
vs Chaos Marines.
Oh yes a chaos army with hardly any heavy weapons and no transports is a really good idea,
NOT.
Result, they all died.
Then Will, yes the person we all though was a good guy, tried to assassinate by force
commander with a greater daemon of Tzeench. My force commander kicked its butt.
Game 3 (Take and Hold)
vs Black Templars (I attacked)
This game went quite well, after destroying his two predators the next two turns saw the
Vindicator shelling the objective, which killed off almost all of his marines, my HQ
killed off the rest. All before any of his reinforcements arrived.
Result, good win.
Game 4 (Night Fight)
vs Speed Freak Orks
Crusader rules!!!!!!
Game 5 (?)
vs Chaos Marines.
Things were going quite well, my opponent had just 6 marines left, while I had a Land
Speeder, Dreadnought and 5 scouts, I could have won be simply keeping out of his charge
range. Then suddenly my opponent was reinforced by around 750 points, including a Land
Raider, tactical squad in Rhino, assault squad and Hideous chaos force commander.
Result, victory was denied me.
Cheers
